Levon's birthday!

Happy birthday to you, dear Levon. From all DOTCOMers I want to congritulate you. We wish you happy life, a lot of nice and bright days, success and many victories.

Internews. "Menq enq."

Our DOTCOM group met with young teenager from Internews' program "Menq enq" on wednesday. The meeting was very interesting and informative. A lot of new information and new ideas. We'll have second meeting in future. If there are some ideas and suggestions, write in the comments of the post.

And so today for Armenia is a very big question:"Who is Mr. Roudolf"? And I know that a lot of collectives have got their own Roudolfs(mystery and clever man). I've got an idea. Let's select a Roudolf for our AM DOTCOM. In the comment box please write names of our DOTCOMers who can be Roudolf(please don't write your names). In the next week I'll create a poll in this blog. The boys' surprise

As the 7th of April is The Day of Maternity and Beauty in Armenia the boy-participants of DOTCOM program decided to congratulate the girls for this nice holiday.On the 8th of April the DOTCOM group had a meeting to discuss some questions .The boys came late and made a surprise for us.They brought a big,nice and tasty cake and juice.We had a little party and spent a very pleasant time.On behalf of the DOTCOM Girls I thank the boys for their nice attitude.

Public opinion poll

Some days ago, after our meeting with BarCamp EVN 09 organizers, we divided into 3 groups and organized public opinion poll. Themes of the groups were different: Web2 technologies, Media and about Teghut forest (in Armenia). We made videos, but unfortunately we can't show them to you because of their big size. Here you can see snapshots from those videos...



So, regarding public opinion poll.
Our group was asking people if they are aware of the ecological problems of Teghut forest and what are their thoughts regarding the issue.

For information: The Armenian Copper Programme, a privately owned company, plans to build a massive open-pit copper mine in the small town of Teghut, Armenia. The mine threatens local ecosystems and communities. Here are some of the problems it poses: Increased deforestation, Threatened wildlife, Air pollution, Water pollution.

Results:

Some said, that our government wants to make places where people can work. We can't say that it's wrong, but we think that forests are also important. And what is interesting??? Many people really believe that the government is ready to do everything for the improvement of the nation. Some people are against the destruction of the forest.

Some people think that they form a minority and can't change anything. There was a guy, who said that he doesn't want to do anything, because he doesn't like the country and is planning to leave forever. We continued our discussion with the guy and he became interested in DOTCOM and what we do. We exchanged our contacts, as he said he would be glad to cooperate.

Several days ago our DOTCOMers made a little public opinion poll about media and web 2.0 tech. Some interesting facts:
